Joan Baez's sister, the late Mimi Fariña wrote Pete the following note after he performed with his band at San Quentin Prison:

We had to write to thank you for making our day incredible. From the perfect church music, to the tunes at the cocktail party that got everyone in the mood for a great time, to the hands-down best band ever heard at a wedding - we can't thank you enough. Not only was it our pleasure to support local musicians (and imported, fiddle playing daughters!) we loved the energy of The Pete Charles Band.
